Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies to the WebGather browser extension, webgather.cloud, and the WebGather licensing service.

2. Data we process

To provide accounts, licensing, and abuse prevention, we may process email addresses, randomly generated installation IDs, user IDs, trial/Pro status, activation-code redemption records, task quotas and task leases, and necessary security logs such as IP address and request timestamps used for rate limiting.

3. Catalog and webpage content

Normal category and product extraction is designed to run locally in the browser. The WebGather license server does not need the product titles, prices, images, category trees, or CSV/XLSX contents you extract.

When you explicitly use “Send to my API,” selected data is transmitted to the endpoint you configured. You control and are responsible for that endpoint and receiving system.

4. Purposes

5. Service providers

We use an email service provider to deliver login verification codes and may use infrastructure providers for website hosting, networking and security. Only the data necessary for those functions is shared with those providers.

6. Retention

We retain account and license data only as necessary to provide the service, protect against abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion, subject to legal and anti-fraud retention requirements.

7. Security

The production service uses HTTPS. License-signing keys and email-provider secrets remain server-side and are never embedded in the browser extension.

Account deletion

Account provides an email re-verification flow for account deletion. After deletion, the account, sign-in sessions, account Pro entitlements and redemption records directly tied to the account are deleted or detached. To prevent repeated-trial abuse, protect service security, and stop the same email from receiving the one-time 3-day Pro trial again after account deletion, we retain a server-keyed pseudonymous trial identity hash and its trial timestamps; the hash does not directly reveal the email address. Necessary pseudonymous installation-level Free-usage and security records may also be retained for security purposes.
